The Peak District has two main contrasting areas:

Dark Peak

Gritstone crags and moors characterise this area to the north of the Peak District. Here you will find the highest hills and wildest scenery and England's only remaining Mountain Hares.

White Peak

Further south the area is characterised by limestone valleys, rolling grassy hills and picturesque villages. The area also incorporates much of the Derbyshire Dales.

We will also try and adjust start and finish times of activities where possible to coincide with your transport schedule. BAKEWELL: Sheldon House and Barn, Monyash

Sheldon House and Barn are situated in the heart of great walking country in the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park. There are numerous walks right from the door – such as the long distance Peak Pilgrimage and the Limestone Way – and also many other tantalising options. Lathkill Dale is close by and the iconic ‘Dragon’s Back’ ridge is just a short drive away.

Sheldon House offers quality B&B in a characteristic limestone building dating from the 18th Century. A king, double, twin and single rooms are available and accommodation can be booked online via the website. Derbyshire breakfasts can sustain a long day of walking and packed lunches are available, including homemade bread and cake. Dinners are also available by arrangement.

Sheldon Barn is a well-equipped self-catering first floor apartment in an adjoining converted barn, with views over the surrounding countryside. The accommodation sleeps 4 in a double room with ensuite bathroom, and a twin room with separate bathroom. The barn can be booked by contacting us directly from our website.

ASHBOURNE: Station House Bed & Breakfast

Situated down a quiet country lane on the Tissington Trail formerly the LNWR railway line and adjacent to the site of the old Thorpe Cloud Railway Station. You will be staying in the original part of the station master’s house. The perfect place to unwind and enjoy the countryside.

We are on the edge of Thorpe village a few miles north of the market town of Ashbourne in the south of the Peak District National Park. The Tissington cycling and walking trail is next to our house. The Stepping Stones in Dovedale, Thorpe Cloud, Ilam Park and Tissington Hall are all nearby.

Our Bed and Breakfast has two double en-suite rooms, free off road parking for all our guests, free Wi-Fi and you will be given a front door key so you will be able to come and go as you please. Our full English Breakfast is made from locally sourced produce and includes homemade bread.

We have a local pub within walking distance (5 mins). There are also pubs and restaurants in Fenny Bentley and Ashbourne a short drive away.

ASHBOURNE: Oldfields Farm

Oldfields Farms has a 4 star gold self-catering cottage for two people and up to two dogs just outside the beautiful market town of Ashbourne. It has its own private enclosed garden where dogs can run around off lead, a gym and a games room with table tennis and table football.

All guests receive their own welcome basket with homemade scones and jam, clotted cream, milk, eggs and locally made treats for the dogs. We can also arrange optional extras like massages or gin tastings in the cottage.

ASHBOURNE: Hoe Grange Holidays

Escape to the country and enjoy the stunning views over the farm fields from the cosy self-catering log cabins and gorgeous glamping pods at Hoe Grange Holidays. All the log cabins and glamping pods are superbly equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday experience; a real home from home. A warm welcome awaits from owners David and Felicity, and you will find lots of little extras in your welcome pack, including delicious homemade bread, free range eggs from the hens, and gorgeous eco-friendly handmade toiletries.

After a day exploring all the Peak District has to offer you can relax and unwind in the hot tub under the starry skies, toast marshmallows round the fire pit or have fun cooking your own pizzas in the outdoor oven.

Close to Chatsworth, Carsington Water, and Dovedale, Hoe Grange is an ideal base for outdoor activities. There is a secure cycle shed and wonderful walks from the doorstep. Why not bring your dog along too?
